"I'm
disappointed you found MJ's e-mail annoying, I'm positive her intention
was not to annoy you, but to show you her support and interest in your
well-being. We are all concerned about you and look forward to the day
you can return to work with us, for no other reason, than your return would
indicate that you have regained your health."
That is the response that I received when I told #1Boss that MJ's email on Friday had bothered me. As usual, he is oblivious to mine or any one else's feelings in that department. MJ emails me constantly. This is fine as I normally don't receive many emails. The problem is, that she ends every single message with the words REBATES SUCK! Rebates, you see, are the one tiny part of my job that she now is required to do. Therefore, every message that I receive from her is a jab at how my absence had made her day more complicated. I had explained this to him in an earlier email today. Am I being overly sensitive about this?
My response
to #1Boss was: "Sometimes comments, no matter
how well intended, can rub a person the wrong way as was the case with
her Friday email. Many times I believe that she blurts out words
without giving full thought as to how they can be
interpreted."
The ball is now back in his court and I am going to seriously look at the help wanted ads in the newspaper.
Ryan had his first half day of school today. In one of his classes, they had a small party with junk food and soda. I picked him up after school and we both came home and had some lunch. As usual he then disappeared into his room. When Dennis got home from work, he asked about Ryan. Upon checking I found that he had gone to bed! I roused him enough to hear him say that his stomach hurt. Too much party fun today I guess. I did wake him at 6:00 so he will be able to fall asleep at his bedtime. He must be feeling better because he opened a can of spaghetti & meatballs and finished it in record time.
The weather
stayed cold and rainy all day. Yesterday's storm brought down large
branches on the dirt road causing it to be closed most of the day.
Because of this I had to detour some 3 miles just to get into to town.
